Is there an MI unit at USAG Vicenza?

I'm graduating from AIT in March and my orders say that I'm going to Vicenza but my unit will be the 2nd Military Intelligence Battalion. When I Google that unit, I can't find anything about it being in Italy--all I read is that it's based in Germany. Does anyone know if the 2nd MI has units in Vicenza or if I'll be going to Germany after I get to Italy?

Could be that is where the 2nd MI BN is based out of and there is possibly a detachment in Vicenza.

There is a MI detachment in Vicenza that falls under 2D MI BN. (VMID)

I was stationed in Wiesbaden with 1st MI battalion which was part of 66 MI brigade. Which had 1st, 2nd, and 24th MI battalion. But with 1st MI we had one of our company's in Hohenfels Germany so it is possible that a detachment is in Vicenza, Italy

I'm not 100% positive, but when I was in Goodfellow AFB for my 35N training someone had gotten orders to go to Vicenza with the 173rd. I hope that helps.

Many MI units are remotely located and with BRAC many have been re-aligned. Most are headquartered out of EUCOM in Germany. Vincenza is NATO HQ and Army is assigned thru EUCOM.
