Where is the closest VA facility? Every VA regional hospital has been directed to have a peer support training program. They can give you the best Intel on one on one, groups,etc.

It has been very difficult to establish true peer supports groups across the nation as the concept is often overshadowed by confusion with treatment. There is literally at the grassroots level and between that and a need for crisis intervention.
Why can't our highly trained and experienced mil/vet gather together to address their concerns and options without a certified facilator?
Why can't we go to a single site, United Way?, for local info? Peer interactions, I.e. meetings cost no $$ and can be held anywhere.

Keep in mind that not all CBOCs might have mental health services. Also be sure to ask if they can help with teleconferencing, if the nearest location is too far.

My local DVA assists with shuttles depending on the facility you use. Don't forget to file travel if you use a POV. You might also fine assistance with local chapter of Wounded Warriors, either in finding or attending of support groups
