Is there any repercussion if I stop going to drill for the reserves? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-there-any-repercussion-if-i-stop-going-to-drill-for-the-reserves <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I got out of active and a year later decided to try the reserves. They are not helping with my disabilities from active and want me to take a pt test. I talked to the unit administrator and about getting out because of this and work making it difficult to get the time off as reasons. She said I would have to start a med board but refused to send me anything to get started for that. Overall is there a way I can bypass my unit with a packet or can I just stop showing up? Will they change my honorable discharge to and dishonorable if I stop reporting? Do not stop showing up for drill. Do talk with your Sargent about your concerns. At your next drill ask your Sargent about resigning. In my reserve unit, my buddy (an E-6) was going through medical stuff and nothing was getting solved. He stopped showing up and changed his number. He was put out with a general discharge and lost some benefits he had earned from his active-duty time. The government invested in you. Furthermore, the government has a vested interest in making sure that people don&#39;t just up and quit because they aren&#39;t happy. The potential is full application of the UCMJ. So you served your AD contract and you spent a year on Cat B..Then went to Cat A? or did you serve your 8 year obligation and enlisted in the Reserves Cat A. Anyways you don&#39;t want to end up being one of those guys crying cause they didn&#39;t put in their retirement time in the Reserves and get nothing. No other job pays retirement for doing so little. My brother did 20 years exactly without a deployment about 75 points a year 1 weekend a month..2 weeks AT a year...nothing more..retired pay started last October age 60. Can&#39;t do PT get a profile...don&#39;t like you unit or MOS...change... go AWOL... Face the music..talk with JAG. keep going burn up the 20 years.... Take that to the military doctor and get your medical profile. In the Air Force you have to be deployable and you can&#39;t deploy if you are on an extended medical profile, or so I&#39;ve heard. I retired in 2010 and that has changed since I retired. Good luck TSgt James Potter Sat, 03 Aug 2019 10:28:03 -0400 2019-08-03T10:28:03-04:00 2019-08-02T15:12:53-04:00
