<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You might wanna talk to a Guard recruiter. They usually have all of the low down on those AGR slots. Most of the time, I've heard that moving into those slots is usually reserved for people transitioning from Active or Guard into the slot. I don't know how easy it is to get into one from the outside. Good luck though.SGT Joseph GundersonSun, 25 Feb 2018 14:11:12 -05002018-02-25T14:11:12-05:00Response by CW5 Jack Cardwell made Feb 25 at 2018 2:16 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The National Guard in most states have online job postings. MOSs are limited for AGR. It helps to be in the Guard before applying. If you cannot find anything online a TXARNG recruiter could probably point you in the right direction.CW5 Jack CardwellSun, 25 Feb 2018 14:16:25 -05002018-02-25T14:16:25-05:00Response by SGT Eric Davis made Feb 25 at 2018 4:18 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>AGR is highly competitive hiring process. These are generally always reserved to current Guard/Reserve members in the State of the job posting. Like mentioned above, these positions are usually limited to certain MOS'. The first step is to be a member of the Guard/Reserves and look for opportunities to apply. You can increase your chances by trying to get a needed MOS. <br />I was selected for AGR on my 6th application over 2 years. Not an easy task but doable if your sharp and develop a reputation of hard work, integrity and a go-get-it attitude.SGT Private RallyPoint MemberSun, 25 Feb 2018 16:24:14 -05002018-02-25T16:24:14-05:00Response by SGT Joshua Powell made Feb 25 at 2018 4:27 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Thank you for the replies. I figured that going in as reserve or active agian was my best option. Ill speak to a recruiter later this week and see what options are available.SGT Joshua PowellSun, 25 Feb 2018 16:27:03 -05002018-02-25T16:27:03-05:00Response by LTC Thomas Tennant made Feb 26 at 2018 9:21 AM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>IT IS!!! First contact HRC via its web site and make sure your records are up to date. If you are willing to reclassify into a much needed MOS and you have a clean record you just might find an organization near by. Just remember, "needs of the service" sometimes take precedence. <br /><a target="_blank" href="https://www.hrc.army.mil/">https://www.hrc.army.mil/</a> <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default">

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Technically having a break in service will not disqualify you for a AGR position. However, AGR slots are hard to come by and competition is usually steep. A reservist or guardsmen already in the unit will most likely have a leg up in the competition as they are a known quantity. So having a break in service might work against you in that process. My advice is to join the the unit in a Reserve/Guard capacity first. That way you can establish yourself first. It might help down the road.SMSgt Thor MerichMon, 26 Feb 2018 11:15:08 -05002018-02-26T11:15:08-05:00Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 27 at 2018 8:36 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Usually you don’t enlist straight into AGR. That’s not how it works. You need to enlist and be in good standings with your unit then apply to a position you want.SSG Private RallyPoint MemberTue, 10 Apr 2018 12:12:09 -04002018-04-10T12:12:09-04:002018-02-25T14:06:34-05:00
