Is there anything about the Reserves that would ever allow an NCO to have 50 months of rated time for an NCOER?

SM ETS'd from the Reserves, then came back to Active Duty as an E-5. Does his last NCOER from the Reserves even matter?

No, regardless of how much time is encompassed between the FROM and TO dates, no more than 12 months of it can be rated time on one NCOER, that is the same in any component of the Army.

I don't think your giving enough info to answer this or at least five you a good COA. His last ncoer certainly does matter, you just might not get it. In that case the Soldier needs to be prepared to send letters to boards in the future if he doesn't have it addressed. He can have a formal memo put into his iPerms to address it if he wants. He should have received a close out eval when leaving. The reserve is no different from active regarding evals.

He should have had a final NCOER when he ETS'd and should have been PERMd if it was under the new system. If he needs the document for future consideration, it should be available.

Lol I did 6 active and then took 6 out and then joined the guard. My CSM blew a lid when he saw a soldier was 6 years overdue

I had an annual that was 26 months due to a special school I went to. Just get a memo of unrated time. However, when arriving to unit and talking with your 1SG, you should've discussed this.
