Is there anything I should do if I am still waiting on my sponsorship email?

Im waiting on my orders to shop up in act and in my mil email but i looked at my gaining installation on my DA 5432 and it says Elgin AFB Destin. Am i just waiting on the email from my sponsor now? is there anything i should do now?

I just went through this, it was about a week after my projection populated in ACT that I got a welcoming email from my gaining unit. Talk to your sponsor and then he'll fill out his info in his section on the forum and you'll do the same then submit. I can't say this is the same for everyone but this is how it went down for me. I was told that forum needed to be done for me to get my hard orders.

How far out are you from PCS? In either case you can request contact information from the unit identified. Odd that you would be going to Elgin. In any case reach out to them.

It's Eglin, not Elgin. Elgin is a town in a different state. There are only three Army units at Eglin: 7th Special Forces Group, 6th Ranger Training Battalion, and EOD school (technically at Hurlburt). Presumably if you're on assignment to Eglin as a 92F it's to 7th Group. You can always look up the S1 contact info for the 7th Group Support Battalion, also known as the GSB

Put the following on your list of things to do: [1] Check on housing in Florida; [2] Check out shipping of household goods [3] Do you need to change your auto insurance once you arrive [4] Are Special Needs of family members available [5] Obtain Medical and Dental Records of spouse and children [6] Make reservation for temporary housing [7] If you own a house, get with a real estate agent NOW.
