Is there still a Mess and Maintenance week at Marine Corps boot camp? If not, what replaced it?

Are you referring to team week? If so they still do a team week here at San Diego. Since the chow hall is now Civilian base it's more of a working party cleaning detail.

They've changed the order of how they training days. As I remember doing team week during the end of second phase back in 2001. Some of the recruits I've seen doing their team week do not even have name tapes yet so I believe it's somewhere between first and second phase.

I was in MCRD in '84. MM week was end of 2nd phase. So much has changed, so much has stayed the same since then. My squad got mess duty. HATED IT! :)

SSgt (Join to see) - I was in the galley at PISC and Camp Kinser. We were away form the regular Marines, it was kinda cool.

The recruits do not do mess hall duty, but they are tasked out on working parties all over base.
