I grew up watching both of these shows, there was never any thought that either program had racist ideologies.

Didn't you know that it is only racism when it's white people doing it? If it's anybody else of any different ethnicity, it's not racism because only white people are capable of racism!

The Jefferson was the first show that you shown an African-American as an successful businessman. Instead of someone living in the projects, or worked as a janitor. The Dukes of Hazzard being cancelled has nothing to do with political correctness but with rating. It was the eighties, there was no political correctness.

One-sided political correctness is always a gnat in your ear. You can't get rid of it regardless how many swipes you make at it. Your illustration is from an earlier time, yet the two-faced example is still with us today. I laugh at the word "honky" because it's silly, even the word "cracker" is humorous and it doesn't bother me. But you better not utter the "N" at all costs.
