Can someone get re-enlistment PCS orders deleted so they can submit a Flight Warrant packet and avoid having to PCS twice within a year? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-this-valid-for-pcs

I re-enlisted for JBLM. I’m building a flight warrant packet. My PCS date is in May. I planned on turning in my packet May-August but my letters of recommendation have to come from my current unit. I don’t think my new JBLM unit will write LOR that quickly. I want to be able to avoid having to move my family twice in a year. I plan on attending the board for warrant officer school in July and was told I could get a school date 1-2 months later if i’m accepted. I would be PCSING and turning around and PCSING again. I want to be able to delete these orders, extend at hood for a year to get my LOR from my current unit since i’ve been with them for 3 years. Is this valid to delete PCS orders? Put the packet in ASAP, you only have til Jan 31 to submit the packet for the next board. You can't really just submit it anytime you want. There are 4 boards a year. You CAN get an earlier date but you have to ask for it and there's no guarantee that will happen. I got a date about 6 months out from my acceptance. Also, don't just assume you will get accepted. It is very competitive. I don't know anything about you and I wish you the best either way, but that packet is not trivial, and not a job I would apply for lightly.

You can request to delete orders and extend but I suggest you talk to your unit career councilor about that. I personally would want to get out Hood asap. Good luck fam! You re-enlisted for JBLM, the army isn’t going to accommodate your “wants” over their “needs”. SFC Private RallyPoint Member SSG Private RallyPoint Member Sat, 08 Jan 2022 23:08:13 -0500 2022-01-08T23:08:13-05:00 Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 9 at 2022 5:12 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-this-valid-for-pcs?n=7465789&urlhash=7465789

You can't extend at Hood, but you can delete the assignment if you requested it through retention. You can be placed on assignment whenever your branch decides to move you. If your branch placed you on assignment, then you will comply with the report date.

You won't PCS twice within a year because that takes the CG HRC approval. Most likely you will simply be given a PCS date that is after your one year mark if you choose to PCS. Those rounds are already down range.

But as already mentioned the Warrant packages aren’t reviewed except during the quarterly board. So unless you are already set to submit before the next deadline you’ll be looking at another quarter and even then it’ll be 6 months or so before you get a school date.

You re-enlisted for a duty station and am getting what you asked for. The army is most likely gonna hold you to that. But if you want to drop a warrant package go for it and see what happens. Don’t stress about hypothetical scenarios that may or may not happen. Is either WOCS or Flight School a PCS, or are they TDY? If they are, you would PCS, TDY, TDY, and then PCS since the time at JBLM and two TDYs would be greater than a year.
See the glasses in the pic? I was set to go to flight school contingent on passing the flight physical. The last item on the nearly six-hour physical was the eye exam. When they saw my left eye was 20/800, the Optometrist asked me how everyone missed that I was almost blind in that eye and should never have gotten that far in the process. If so, was it based on your present MOS? That maybe a key factor in your PCSing again. You maybe locked into your enlistment for the amount of time you re-enlisted.
