It's so much more as we personally understand and carry with us its importance, its reasons and its meanings...
I really don't care about "them" and what they think as long as "we" remember...
To me? Than's what matters most; ensuring we remember each other when others find reasons to forget, after all, WE also need to remember that WE are still a part of this great nation that, at some point, we swore to defend, and that this day is designated for US not them...
And besides, when others start to forget, and they will, history has shown there will be enough of us old crotchety Dysfunctional Veterans around to ensure the they never get a total memory loss! :)
To All Who Have Served, Have A Thoughtful And Most Memorable Veterans Day!
Curtis W. On this day, along with many other days, I think of friends killed in Vietnam. I also remember my father, an Air Force Captain who died when his plane crashed during a training flight. I remember my five uncles who all served and are now deceased. I attended Vancouver, Wa, Veteran's Day parade today. There were quite a few boy scout and girl scout troops marching in the parade, which was good. We have their sympathy, but it is a topic that the civilians don't want to talk about. They can't say thank you for the war, or I am sorry there are so many broken vets. For most, the best that they can say is thank you for serving.

But for us Veterans' we feel, hear, and see the sacrifices made my Veterans. But it is not only the Veteran's who have broken hearts. Parents lose their child, wives lose their husbands, children lose their fathers.
