Is your email address professional?

When I was a Marine, I walked like a Marine, spoke like a Marine, had an email like a Marine: Jarheadiam, I used it for almost 10 years...however, when I became a chiropractor, it sounded too unprofessional, so I changed it to Drlogiudice.

...is there a special meaning behind your email, care to share?

There are some real original ones out there. Just a sugfestion, I'd keep it somewhat neutral if you're looking for civilian work...some thing about emailing someone with an email about a job offer that starts with killemall...some would think twice. How (un)professional is your email?

Some folks have never really thought about it, but is your email address holding you back?

Prior to joining I used atl1996@ for many emails (in honor of the 1996 Olympics, being that I grew up in Atlanta). I switched to manoverboard922@ when I graduated boot camp (my boot camp division was 922). Now I just use jacobdronzin@... most of the time. Makes it easier for the rest of humanity especially over the phone ;-)

I just us my mil email for all my professional (ie military) matters and my personal email is jdcopeland@

About 6 years ago, I got an Airman coming in from tech school and he sent me his email address because he was taking leave in route. Now this is a brand new E3 emailing is squadron POC who is and E6. The email address was ultimatemagicalswordsman1@.

The first thing that came to mind was, seriously? This is the email address a new Airman gives thier Unit to contact him with?

Then it occurred to me....who had ultimatemagicalswordsman@ that actually required this guy to use the 1.

Yes. I keep mine professional. I just use my first and last name. It also makes it easier for people to find your email or remember it if they lose your card, etc.

I like to think so....all of them.
There is Marquezracing@, E.marquez@, Erik.Total Rider@, Owner@MRPowder. and a few others for specific use.

And then there is the junk mail one when forced to provide an email and I KNOW it will be spammed

I had lilac_the_bunny for a while because my daughter wanted me to use it. I think it still exists as an unused account. I would hate to see the spam folder now.

What scares me, though, is the idea of a Former Marine adjusting my back...it is straightening now just thinking about it!

SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member When I was in high school, I had an English teacher who insisted that we have a "professional" email address, and I've used the same one since then, my first/middle initials, dot last name.

Before enlisting, I never came across and employer or manager whom I thought was pleased, per se, in the fact that I had a professional email address, but I do know that some of my old bosses would have been put off by an unprofessional one, as it were.

i have an email that is my first and last and "pr" because at 13 I just KNEW I was going to be a PR for someone haha
