Its a good thing, for ISIS and friends, that I am not POTUS - I would send in troops to root out these barbarians and wipe them out.

No nice guy. No punches held. They would die and that's that.

And, we would protect those civilians they have targeted. This ISIS "program" would be over, and I'd likely take it to Syria in some form.

This is ridiculous to the extent that it is now obscene and offensive to the extreme.

MAJ Derrick J. Welcome to the new Jihad! This is classic Jihad 101 that ISIS is using in their methods and rationale. As disgusting as it seems the beheading was relatively quick. There are lots of examples of things ISIS have done to others that are even worse - burial alive or stoning hundreds comes to mind. The only issue I see - how do you track down something (ISIS) when you don't even know the identification of the leadership and there's no set seat of government. This is tribal warfare in the modern world - our military is not set up for that. To fight ISIS with our current military settings - probably not a good idea. We need to learn about our enemy and determine the best way to destroy them. Going where they've been is fighting a reactive battle. Even if we were able to identify every figher (doubtful), we certainly don't know who the leadership is.....

I agree it's ridiculous, all these terrorist want to do is kill. There is no cease fire, compromises, or surrendering. It's kill or be killed. No ifs ands or buts. It's also clear cut evidence of yet another one of moron-in-charge failures. Oh well, let's play another round of golf and blame Bush.

Sir, no disrespect but I am glad that you are not the POTUS. As much as I despise what ISIS is doing, I am tired of us trying to fix other country's problems. The moment ISIS threatens us directly, yes we should go and exterminate them. In the meanwhile, I am sure that there are other pressing issues here that our politicians should be taking care of.

I personally think that this is a 2 fold problem....1. we are dealing with radicals....they don't ever think straight. 2. we caused this problem in two different ways. The first way was to take Saddam out of the picture. I date back to Desert Storm, so I suspected in 1991 that we would be back to finish the job...and I feel it was the right thing to do. The SECOND way we failed/facilitated this is our withdrawl. Look at history. WW2: Stablization forces in Europe for 50+ years...keeping the peace and monitoring the rebuilding; also Stablization forces in Japan...again, providing oversight. we were there for 13 years (give or take a year or 2.....) what stablization is that? The country is STILL populated by an uneducated population. With this, it only takes a few "educated bad guys" to enforce what the law is regardless of what it truely says, or how it says it...nobody can go read it themselves or inturrpret it. they MUST rely on someone that can read. I suspected that this type of thing would occur with the short occupation and pull out. Truly, about the only way to succeed would be to ensure all children for the next 2-3 generations are educated (both male and female). Once a majority of the population is educated, they have less risk of being fed a line of bull from some terrorist interpretation. We either need to sit back and let them deal with this mess 100% regardless of how it turns out for Iraq, OR we need to be dedicated for the next 50-70 years......and support them as we did in Germany/Europe and Japan.

I say we should send in the 160th SOAR and offer these guys free helicopter rides while Delta and DEVGRU play "dirt darts" from 300 feet. If you've got to do the "wet work", someone should at least be having fun doing it.

There are severa inflated partisan responses in these comments for that I am disappointed for those who wear the uniforms yet speaks, regurgitates talk radio talking heads nonsense.

First, it appeared that we have not learnt from our mistakes, we cannot continue to send our young men to that desert to fight for those who would not lift a finger themselves.

Two, for the liberal comments that have to be for the president, what is so positive about the previous administration handling things in Iraq that you are eager to see duplicated.

Three, many of you are so twisted into parties politics not to see that are more than the US in the world and until Germany, France, England and all those Arabs countries are willing to have their kids dead or coming missing limbs, we should no longer carry the world problem on our back.

Last, there are many countries who stands on the sidewalk watching America fighting wars after wars like the Romans did and expecting the same result / outcome.
Sadly, this president has undertaken more bold military actions than the previous one except he does not go on national TV to talk tough.

Pretty easy decision for all those "US" citizens that have decided to give up their citizenship and travel to the ISIL and tear up there passports as a symbol of solidarity. Time to revoke their citizenship and declare war on the ISIL. There can be no appeasement , only defeat for the enemies of our state.

I am thinking that we should take a page out of Blackjack Pershing's play book. As memory serves, and many times it doesn't lately, I believe Pershing, when he was fighting the Muslims, captured a large group, then he chose a few, bathed them in pig blood then used a firing squad on them while the others watched. Then he let the witnesses go to spread the word. Apparently it worked for over a century.

While I am not a big fan of the current crop of Journalist, hacking their heads off is not the answer...or the best answer?

As to attacking ISIS, saying we should attack them is easier said than done. Are we going to invade Iraq and Syria to attack these pigs? What do we do when they take their burqa off (a direct implication that these dog are hiding behind women’s clothing…with no disrespect to women or transgendered intended or implied)? The can hide in population, much like the most of the Iraqi army, when we whipped them. Are leadership has had the time to create a plan to stop the growth of this cesspool, but have done nothing…to our shame…but just because there are no easy answers does not mean you do nothing. The first mistake in the long list of mistakes was allowing the Iraqi government determine if we maintained a military presence?

This is certainly a tragic loss. Whether in Africa or the Middle East, terrorist never play by rules. This puts our government in a tough position. On one hand, this group must be stopped; on the other hand, dose our nation want to rush into another occupational war?

Tough choices will have to be made if we really want to stop terrorism.

Without a Plan? Just go in there and NUKE them? History has shown this works but at what expense? Get a plan together, with exact details and then see if that is what we should do?
