Isn’t CITI bank from china?

So we have our GTCC from citi bank. And citi is owned by china. And china is our “adversary” or rival if you downplay it.
Isn’t that like a security concern??

Where do you see that Citibank is owned by China? I'm not seeing anything that Citibank or Citigroup (its parent organization) are "owned" by China. I see ethat in 2021 Citibank announced it would exit its consumer banking operations in 13 markets, including Australia, Bahrain, China, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. And then in 2022 planned to exist consumer banking in Mexico.

The controversies associated with them are funding the Dakota Access Pipeline in North Dakota, Libor Index Settlement and Yakuza links.

So could you provide a source that you saw that China "owns" Citibank or Citigroup?

Also - how many servicemembers are on TikTok and that's owned by China - and I bet you're even on it. Do you stop to think about that when using it or no? Just curious.

There's a branch in China but it's subordinate to Citibank and Citigroup. It's not owning the entire organization.

Young Soldier....I implore you to stop believing every thing you may hear on TikTok (created in China) and actually use your own brain matter to do your own research. Seriously, where in the Hell did you hear that Citi is owned by China? Last I researched....like 10 seconds ago...Citi is owned and operated in New York City.

Well......... at least you are reading the fine print.

What you shared as reference material is Citybank Co Ltd. which is a subsidiary that covers down on the China market.

Now, looking at my own GTC I'm not getting any links to the Ltd. That said........... in the context you are reading the privacy statement the circled section you have is merely a disclaimer

"TO THE EXTENT THAT YOU HAVE......"

Do you have a card issued by the Ltd? It's not the GTC.

It's a catch all privacy statement including cards issued by the Ltd with an additional privacy link that applies to those products.
