LOL! Let's hope not!
Japan has wanted to create it's own domestic fighter jet for about 50 years now. They've licensed and built various U.S. jets in the past. The big hold up has been the Japanese constitution and the Self-defense requirement. With the recent change in the internal review of the intent of the Japanese constitution this move to produce their own jets, etc is one more step for Japan to become a full partner with the U.S. in the Pacific. In reality, the U.S. really NEEDS Japan to step up and help out in the Pacific.
