Other fields can allow those who learned in them to translate their general leadership capability.. (of course first is being able to lighten up on the Military synonyms in some of them) ... At first when I went into
The Culinary field It was not too hard.. we actually had a good mix of Veterans in our groups.. it was my Veteran Comrades and the Baker Chef instructor and the Stores/
Stock instructor that interceded.. I got to where I half translated the synonyms and it seemed to work for those that had never yet served our country( between myself and my Veteran Comrades we worked to talk to our "civilian" classmates to check into being a citizen/service person. Out of 15 to 20 we got 8 that checked into being a Citizen/ Service person and 5 that actually went forward and joined... I don't recall which ones they joined or how long they stayed but I thought that was pretty good.. this was back in '79 and another period when I went back to expand into another part of hospitality management field (there some of us made our totally civilian counterparts to check into the services career field of club management and baseHousing/transient housing. Also if they've using there GI Bill and or VocRehab, how are the different States and Counties helping the? Here in California we have a State educational benefits for any Veteran who had a father or mother served in the Armed Forces and have a 0% service-connected disability by the VA and they will wave the tuition fees. This is for all UC, State, and Community Colleges. Please pass this to your Veterans who might want to come to California.
