No way to know for sure but odds are good you will be in an Airborne unit. But if you take the initiative and call branch ASAP, you might a ticket to the 173rd. Just be mentally prepared, serving in an elite unit like the 82d or 173rd is demanding. When you go through AIT out processing ask the S1 for clarification of duty assignment. You might already have orders or an assignment by branch that is just waiting for Airborne completion. Plus you get the cool guy jumps here just got 2 CH-47 jumps this week. You just got to make the best out of it.
