Just do the best that you can, learn from others, be open minded, make friends, and have fun. If you have a bad attitude, time there will be even worse for you. Always look for the bright side, even when you have to stand at parade rest in the rain to eat chow (which you sometimes get like 2 min to eat). Positive attitude will go a long way. Think leadership, problem solving, and decision making more than tactics. Tactics are good but leading, solving problems in a quick and effective manner, and making decisions are more important. Call cadences if no one else will. I was always thankful for the people that called cadences. Made the suck a little better. Push yourself past your limits on everything mentally and physically. Lastly, be a team player. That doesn't mean do everything for someone or give out all the answers. But motivate, guide, or help others. Teamwork will be quickly noticed by others. That's my 2 cents and hope it helps. Good luck.
