In these leadership programs for junior leadership, we practice those skills overlooked like D&amp;C, Properly running the PRT program, Land Navigation, How to conduct training, Teaching a class, etc. They even go as far as touring us around to resource locations like our CFF center, and where exactly to sign out training gear. <br><br>Also our CSM even goes as far as getting financial advisors in for financial classes and how to help our Soldiers when needed or simply where to send them. There's a lot more classes and things we learn about in this 2 week academy for enlisted members and it's well worth the time and effort put together by our senior leadership in order to enhance junior leaders and potential future leaders as the courses are not just for NCOs. Not everyone knows everything so this Academy is excellent and continues on in my unit for developing within the ranks. <br> Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 24 at 2014 5:39 PM 2014-03-24T17:39:56-04:00 2014-03-24T17:39:56-04:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 87632 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Fort Stewart, 1ABCT, has implemented what's called the RIG (Raider Initiative Group) and has launched both a JLMP (Junior Leader Mentorship Program) and an SLMP (Senior Leader Mentorship Program).<div><br></div><div>I attended the JLMP prior to PCSing, and I can say without a doubt that it was one of the best classes I've attended in my five years of service.</div><div><br></div><div>It focused on the idea of the "human problem" within the Army, that we as NCOs needed to focus more on understanding our soldiers as people -- because they are, before everything else.  And the greatest fact of all: it cost the brigade next to nothing.  About five slides worth of power point, and a few hours of open discussion.  The MSG in charge was both insightful and thought provoking.  </div><div><br></div><div>I would suggest looking up MSG Fenlason and SSG Garrett in 1ABCT, 3ID, for the information (the latter of the two, I'm a close personal friend of), but I feel like the Army, as a whole, would run better if the two day class we received were mandatory. </div><div><br></div><div>I've never been so satisfied with a class during my career.</div> Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 28 at 2014 5:01 PM 2014-03-28T17:01:22-04:00 2014-03-28T17:01:22-04:00 2014-03-23T22:00:16-04:00
