I tend to stay with the filed manager that comes with the distro I install. I may install other tools to compliment it, such as gParted, however.

I've never run into a situation where the default file manager that came with the distro didn't do what I needed it to. Then again, I haven't spent a whole lot of time in the gui as most of my linux experience has been managing headless servers via SSH. I'd stick with Thunar, though, if only because it's named after Thor and jives with my Viking and German ancestry. lol
