First we would have to understand why jobs were driven out of the US in the first place. How did it come to be that Toyota and Volkswagen are building cars in the US, while Ford and Chevy are building cars in Mexico? Why is it that most of what we buy is made by people earning slave wages in China, instead of factories here in the US? Germany pays it's factory significantly more than what we pay ours and they enjoy benefits that US workers haven't imagined since the 70's.., and yet they somehow manage to manufacture and export more goods than they import. The Democratic party certainly deserves a lot of the blame for all the Free Trade agreements that have been signed over the past few decades... however it's silly to give Republicans a free pass, they too have been pushing Free Trade Agreements, and actively worked to undermine American Unions instead of working with them. Meanwhile Germany has figured out that at least partial union ownership of the plant leads to a much better alignment of Union and Managements objectives. the solutions have been in plain sight for decades, meanwhile both political parties continue to fail US workers.

I support the idea behind the stances, but correct, this will negatively affect smaller businesses even though they are meant to target larger corporations.

Its not a democrat/republican issue. Go to any of those "look-at-how-they-vote" sites. With two exceptions, every elected senator and congressman from both parties has been for outsourcing/restructuring/layoffs, whatever 'term' you wish to call it. So for one side to claim they are 'for jobs' is hilarious.

Yet, give them their due...they got elected/reelected, right? So who is the true fool?
