It's actually down the hall from me at Walter Reed. They are considered iet. You get the weekends but besides that.. You will need the weekends to study anyway. I don't think you need kevlar and such. I have never seen the students go to the field and many active duty are not issued that stuff unless they go to a school. Last I heard, it was two weeks straight through (no days off). Here is the link the AMEDD C&S website for the Active Component. Unless something has changed in the past year since I left the NCOA, the AC NCOA HQ should be providing oversight of the development of all components curriculum. http://www.cs.amedd.army.mil/ncoa.aspx At the bottom left corner is the NCOAs contact information. Just ask for the ALC OPS POC and go from there. Hit me up if you are still hitting walls.

Welcome to AMEDD Center and School

About Us The Army Medical Department Noncommissioned Officers Academy provides Sergeants, Staff Sergeants and Sergeant First Class with the technical, tactical, and leadership/trainer skills necessary to be successful in Army operations as squad/platoon sergeants and First Sergeants in career management field (CMF) 68. The ones I've attended are 2 weeks everyday and include medical and tactical training. You may find some with less medical if you're a certified or licenced paramedic which will focus on trauma casualty care under fire. Most classes will ask you to bring the full kit (medical supplies, weapon, ballistic vest, etc.) Few classes will allow you to bring your own weapon but some may.

Hope this helps. Two written tests, plus a speech. APFT and daily pt. I went to the active one and had a friend in the reserve/NG side at Knox. Items on the packing list will be used for the "field problem". You'll go by CIF if you don't have it. You will find better information there. Also you should have received a welcome letter from you Senior Instructor. Good luck to you.
