Tag Information Technology, Computers, and Systems Analyst and you'll probably get plenty of help. All I can say is you should probably speak with DOIM / NEC as they normally have a share drive of accepted AGM-approved software. I would get with the systems manager for these computers. Tell them what you want you to do, and they should provide direction on getting the approval and the funds allocated, and assigning someone from their staff to install.

You might be surprised to find out that the systems manage already has a license to install MS Project on a certain number of computers.

If that fails, ask your OIC.
Good luck. Problem is its for a private license. They won't give a private license for a government computer and so enters the challenge of funding. Depending on why and where you want Project, you will have to request through NEC using unit fundd or a CAPER. Start with NEC and they can guide you through the process. For software that isn't pretty much universal like Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. there typically is an authorization issue, i.e. this segment of the command does this and therefore needs that. It's tougher if you're being different from other commands in wanting it as budgeting for licenses probably doesn't support it.

BTW, all military and Government workers can also take advantage of the HUP (Home User Program) in which things like Office, Visio, and Project cost you $30 each or thereabouts. I did my final personal buy before I punched out of CS for good a couple years ago. They will tell you whether it's ok. What it boils down to is 2 things: is it allowed on the army's image (it is), and do you have licenses for it? If there are no licenses, they'll be able to talk you through the acquisition process for those.

If you're not affiliated with a G6 or part of a strategic separate bde or something, get with the NEC. Either way, the process is the same. Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 6 at 2016 10:11 AM 2016-02-06T10:11:10-05:00 2016-02-06T10:11:10-05:00 2016-02-05T22:54:29-05:00
