You should try to see if anyone at Vancouver Barracks is willing to go hiking. Its only Reserve units but you may find someone interested. I'm from OR but stationed in GA now. The Columbia Gorge is beautiful too.

I am in WA and very much involved in hiking. I only did one time in Oregon and it was very challenging. Have you thought about expanding your adventure to the WA hiking trails? Chris

Used to live there, moved away in 2003, great area for hiking & mountain biking.
