No matter what whiz-bang tech develops you will always need boots on the ground to fight and win wars. I really liked the Tolstoy paraphrase. "You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you." I must beg to differ only subtly: 1. While boots on deck will always be required this does not mean we get to sit out the tough process of innovation (see related thread ) 2. Just because war is interested in us doesn't mean we need to fight every war we can. <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> <a target="blank" href="https://www.rallypoint.com/command-post/a-20th-century-army-in-a-21st-century-world?urlhash=252195#252195">The Professional Military Network | RallyPoint</a> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description">Find service members and veterans like you, discuss military life, and share professional opportunities on the largest military network.</p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> Capt Richard I P. It seems like he actually has his head on straight and understands the needs of the military going forward. It's sad that even after the past 13 years of warfare the military still needs reminders about it's human element and the true nature of warfare. If we could get lobbyist out of DC the military would probably do much better SGT James Elphick Wed, 01 Oct 2014 19:09:44 -0400 2014-10-01T19:09:44-04:00 Response by SGT David Brimmer, MS, MPA made Jun 23 at 2015 5:49 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/ltg-mcmaster-and-his-outlook-on-future-warfare?n=765471&urlhash=765471 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>LTG McMaster was the Colonel of the Regiment while is was with 3d ACR. He's a skilled tactician, a renowned scholar, and a formidable man all around. It is very reassuring to hear someone of his stature acknowledge that the stigma of receiving mental health services because of military stress is, unfortunately, alive and well. I second his opinion on devolving that stigma while promoting access to mental health services for service members. Good read! Thanks.
