(WARNING TO OTHER ACTIVE DUTY RP MEMBERS)
Why is it that in order to verify on this site, I have to send a photocopy of my CAC ID? I would never, ever give someone a copy of my CAC, much less distribute it on digits to a civilian. Why can't you just verify active duty members via military email?
Worse, the verification email I received was part of a mass email, and the CC line contained my personal email address and the addresses of a bunch of other people who had applied. If I wanted my email address to be disseminated to strangers, I'd post it on my twitter! I regret applying to this site. It's obvious the founders do not take security seriously.
Here's part of the email I received from this site requesting verification:
"If you wish to continue being a part of our community, we need you to verify your service using one of three methods:
* email a photocopy of your military ID
* email a photocopy of your VA ID
* email a photocopy of your DD214 (all that needs to be visible is name and branch of service) along with a photo of you holding a piece of paper with your username on it."

Hmmm, interesting points there on infosec, Shelby. Didn't get that far into their website or registration. Thanks for that info!

Is this a competition to Rallypoint? How is it different/similar to this site? Thanks.

He is part of the creation team. Although we used wordpress as the base for our site it is more of a social network and forum for veterans to gather and share the camraderie with our brothers and sisters. Our motivation was that we wanted to freely express ourselves without getting banned from facebook because someone didn't like our opinion or sense of humor.
