Not every veteran has the capacity, capability or means to assist in Afghanistan these days. What ways, if any, are you getting involved? How can others get involved?

I understand many are not as fortunate as I. But I have spare room and (a very little) spare income. I am in negotiations with my wife (which I am losing, but I *am* negotiating) to take an SIV individual or family in for a month or two.

That's incredible SFC Casey O'Mally !! If you wouldn't mind, could you share a bit about the process? My wife and I have been discussing this as well.

CW3 Chuck Eastman - I am not that far yet. I am still fighting the wife (and losing).

But I realized that this was a "put up or shut up" moment. I can't complain about the government not doing more to get folks out if I am unwilling (despite being able) to do my small part to take care of the folks they *did* get out.

My plan, if I *do* win my marital negotiation is to work through the local charity (International Center of Kentucky) that arranges those things in the Commonwealth. Basically I just Googled "who is in charge of refugee resettlement in Kentucky?" and followed the bread crumbs.

If it does come to pass, I will certainly share more about the process.

Thanks so much! Normally I'm of the mindset that it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission...but I don't that'd fly for this. Good luck!
