Marine hand to hand combat - how does it work? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/marine-hand-to-hand-combat-how-does-it-work

I've heard its one of the most revered fighting techniques in the world. It was implemented after I got out. I was in martial arts before I enlisted (Aikido, Tae Kwan Do, Kenpo) and thought hand to hand was pretty pathetic when I was going through it. Can those of you in it now give me some feedback on it. By glean from the techniques, but have a base martial art. Mine is judo and jujitsu. All the Budo arts fit together. It was a system focused on lethal response to common attacks. It got discontinued due to need for non-lethal methods and rigidness of using 6-7 detailed steps in each scenario.

The current system is MCMAP (Marine Corps Martial Arts Program). It mixes MMA with traditional weapons tactics (i.e. bayonet, etc.). LTC Eugene Chu Thu, 18 Apr 2019 10:17:37 -0400 2019-04-18T10:17:37-04:00 2014-07-16T03:59:06-04:00
