I know that Xstat just got FDA approval:

http://archive.armytimes.com/article/20140208/NEWS04/302080004/Injectable-sponges-can-stop-bleeding-15-seconds MAJ Private RallyPoint Member Sun, 23 Nov 2014 07:15:06 -0500 2014-11-23T07:15:06-05:00 Response by SFC Vernon McNabb made Nov 23 at 2014 8:10 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/medics-nurses-doctors-do-you-think-this-is-the-future-of-hemmorhage-control?n=338820&urlhash=338820

Very cool! I like the fact that in the video, when asked what is the practical application of his product, and first thing he talks about is Soldiers on the battlefield. It would be nice to have this gel down to the lowest level, parents could have this for kids, themselves or pets. But I haven't read about the vita gel. I agree Tourniquets will always be held up as the most vital for years to come. However I believe it will come down to how much, how fast, and how long it can keep the wound sealed during the patient transport. So I agree with possibility of replacing combat gauze, maybe. But overall great topic, looking forward to it if they start to implement it after more test.
