The NFL on Fox team came out during one of my tours at Al Udeid. I got to give Terry Bradshaw, Michael Strahan, and Jimmy Johnson a tour of the B-1.

William Hurt - While waiting to fly back from San Francisco to JBLM in Washington - He thought we were deploying to Bosnia. We were there for firefighting training (I was not impressed)

Several time-at Reserve Officers Association (ROA) Conventions in DC, where we got to meet several US Senators and Congress members, as well as Congress members at local patriotic events. Excluding politicians, I met Nancy Sinatra at a Veterans Day parade, and Pat Boone at The ROA National Convention in San Francisco.

A friend of mine, who is in the Coast Guard, randomly bumped in to Robin Williams in San Francisco; he thanked him for his service! Sad loss; Robin was a great supporter of our troops, and heck of a nice guy!

A very long time ago, I met Chuck Conners (The Rifleman) at an Airport. He actually came up to me and shook my hand and thanked me for my service. I'm 6' 4" and had to crank my head back to look him in the eyes. The dude was HUGE!

I've met Sugar Ray Leonard while in uniform going through the Charlotte NC airport, and I met Geraldo Rivera while in Afghanistan. Got a lot of respect for the former, the way he put himself out there in his book. The latter...well, when someone tells me I should have butt-stroked him with the rifle....I really can't argue... but I was already an officer, and they made me carry an M9

LTC Martha Raye, met her and escorted her before Christmas 1968 at CCN, MACVSOG, Marble Mountain, DaNang, a true “lady”, a real trooper, loved her Gin and poker. A gracious nurse that really cared about the Special Forces.

I didn't meet him but Hulk Hogan was doing a book signing at Fort Lewis, Washington during a brief stay I had there. I saw him at a distance of about 15 feet.

I met singer Tennessee Ernie Ford when I was a patient at Letterman Gen. Hospital in 1969. A group of us were given a trip to South Lake Tahoe where he was performing. I am the one to the far left. I also met singer Bobbie Gentry (Ode to Billy Joe), singer Johnny Mathis, comedian/actor Jan Murray and Johnny Grant (Honorary Mayor of Hollywood).
