<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>During this long weekend, I will be getting ready for a deployment. Normally I have a BBQ and remember those who served before me.MSgt Private RallyPoint MemberTue, 20 May 2014 12:54:41 -04002014-05-20T12:54:41-04:00Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made May 20 at 2014 12:59 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It should not be about BBQing, drinking, and such. It should be about remembering those that are no longer with us; however, time off from work can be few and far between. Holidays should be spent enjoying the company of friends and family, and there needs to be a balance of enjoyment and remembrance.1SG Private RallyPoint MemberTue, 20 May 2014 12:59:44 -04002014-05-20T12:59:44-04:00Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made May 20 at 2014 1:54 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Memorial day means 50% off mattresses, with 3 years no interest financing. Really wish that people would take memorial day as something other than "day of shopping"SPC Private RallyPoint MemberTue, 20 May 2014 13:54:29 -04002014-05-20T13:54:29-04:00Response by Col Private RallyPoint Member made May 27 at 2014 8:19 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I was astonished at how many active duty military folks on Facebook changed their profile picture to depict themselves in military uniform on memorial day. Seriously? It's not about yourself, instead about those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Don't get me wrong, people are free to put whatever picture they desire on their Facebook profile. I just think they need to be re-educated as to the reason behind Memorial Day. For me the weekend is when I watch the movie Taking Chance, and think about the KIA special forces hero I escorted out of Iraq via C-130 during my last deployment.Col Private RallyPoint MemberTue, 27 May 2014 20:19:35 -04002014-05-27T20:19:35-04:00Response by SPC Charles Brown made May 23 at 2015 1:04 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Why do we think the day has to be 24 hours of somber remembrance? I have lost two kids. One served in the US Army. Neither died while serving our country. But, if you think I ever forget your are wrong. <br /><br />One can remember regardless of the activity. <br /><br />Perhaps we should just everyone be themselves and not criticize what they do, nor judge whether ot not they have paid respect to our fallen warriors.Capt Private RallyPoint MemberMon, 25 May 2015 07:09:44 -04002015-05-25T07:09:44-04:002014-05-20T11:02:26-04:00
