This coming from someone who went there 3 times.

Was 1% over body fat first time. Sent home. No consult placed for my waiver for my eyes. Had to wait a set amount of time to go back.

Go back make tape. Consult placed. Go home and wait we will call when you can go.

Go see eye doc. Go back to MEPS. Ok cleared go home and wait for your waiver.

This was all with them knowing I was a direct commissioning officer. They don’t care.

At MEPS you are the same as any other person going into any other branch. The only difference is you have a different liasion officer you work with at MEPS depending on your branch of service.

MEPS though is not bad at all. Just he courteous. Do what is asked of you. Have all documents they tell you to take with you. Follow all the rules. When you go through MEPS the doctors do not know what component of the military you are joining whether it is RA, AR or NG. They only know the branch. They treat you the same regardless of component. You are evaluated the same, no less, no more. You don't get a break just because you choose a component that is not active. You either meet standards or you do not.
