Let me say first, Ray Rice was wrong, Period! However, consider this; Mr. Rice lost his temper and slugged his wife. Now he's lost a promising career and endorsement deals, worth millions of dollars. Is this a one time incident or does he have a history of anger issues? We don't know. However the NFL has already suspended him indefinitely. Now Michael Vick; tortures helpless animals for "sport", repeatedly. Is convicted and sentenced in court and a few years later, not only is he playing football again, he's petitioned the court for permission to own a dog.... Somehow it just seems lopsided. What's the message from the NFL here?

No, I don't think it's over the top to ask that they both be neutered. I personally agree with you completely! If it was up to me, they both would have been "fixed" a long time ago.

It is lopsided. He should never be allowed to own a dog or another kind of pet! And he never should have been allowed to return to football! Is this the kind of role model we want our kids to be watching? I for one don't think so! I turn the game off if he's playing.

I stopped watching NFL altogether when “hump-the-bunk” started kneeling during anthem.

PO3 John Jeter I couldn't agree with you more! If he can't stand with his hand over his heart and show respect for our flag he doesn't deserve to be there. Throw him out!

PO3 John Jeter I don't think it so much a message from the NFL as much as it is a message from society.
There seems to be a unbalanced value of an animals life over the life of human being. Granted Ray Rices' wife is still alive and living with her husband, by choice. However, the animals were tortured and died.
I cannot understand or accept that an animals life is of more value than any human being.
Regarding the Dentist who shot Cecil the lion. I do not support hunting for sport, I do support hunting for food. That being said, if Cecil would have survived I guarantee you we would be talking about a lion who killed and probably ate a human being.
