Most of us have seen them and used them. Should we see if RallyPoint can get some military themed emoticons so we can really show each other how we feel?

I vote no. I despise emoticons when used anywhere other than text messages, and even there only begrudgingly do I accept them, and I would hate to see them here. Fair or not, I mentally associate them with people of low intelligence.

MAJ Robert (Bob) Petrarca Why not? We are already trying to use them with text. I'm not sure how much extra technical work goes into creating/allowing them, but it can't be too much more difficult than tagging names.

Major, I really hate being limited to 50 UP votes and I have used mine wisley. Just opened this thread and have laughed my retired butt off. Heck yes - they add a lot (AT TIMES) and if used wisely.

On the other hand, I do know a few people who would have to be restricted in use. Say a 25 Emoticon limit per day? LOL ;-() LMAO
