I just came across this News article. Needless to say the actions of the security guard really pisses me off?

Have any of you come across someone that is "offended" by your uniform or military service?

LTC (Join to see) Sir, as I said in my post about the same subject, the actions of the security guard really piss me off. Offend someone, give me a break. At least the school stepped up and said this is not coming from us.

The article sounds like the only one offended was the security guard. I'm guessing he was probably one of those "I would've served, but" people

I would tend to agree....but security doesn't work in a vacuum. They don't write the policy, they enforce it. So either that guard was off the reservation or he was told a "policy" and merely enforced what he was told. If it's the latter, who told him? His supervisor or the principal?

LTC Paul Labrador, based on the article, he was either off the reservation, or got thrown under the bus by his CoC.

Or the superintendent is covering for the principal....again throwing the guard under the bus...

Yes Sir.

I would've asked the rent-a-cop to show me that in writing or to take me to the school principal for clarification

I as a dad, veteran, and former teacher agree that it should have been taken up with the principal. However, kindly do not refer to security professionals as "rent-a-cop."

Even though some individuals who work in private security do not behave in a professional manner, you are disparaging an entire industry with this type of comment.

Another thing to remember: many of those working in the security industry are veterans. It tends to attract veterans, in fact.

Join nearly 2 million former and current members of the US military, just like you.
