MOS-T now that Drill Sgts are back? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/mos-t-now-that-drill-sgts-are-back <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>First off, please... please spare me the &quot;you didn&#39;t have Drills in AIT?&quot; &quot;back in my day&quot; etc comments. TRADOC runs that lane, and it was what it was when I first came in, good or bad.<br /><br />But to the meat of my question is can anyone who has gone through school as a MOS-T with Drill Sgts now back share how it was for them? I asked the newest private in my section, but she graduated just before it happened, and wasn&#39;t able to tell me much that I didn&#39;t already have an idea about. I&#39;m aware every school, post, unit, and cycle are different. I&#39;m just wondering if MOS-T are also under Drill Sgts and/or have to adhere to the regulations IET soldiers are under? I have family I don&#39;t see often close to the base I&#39;ll be at, and I&#39;m hoping to get the opportunity to go to where they live and spend time with them. Is what it is in the end. Just trying to get an idea of what to expect now that it has changed. Two separate, but organizations, but mutually supporting SFC Private RallyPoint Member Sat, 22 Sep 2018 06:55:02 -0400 2018-09-22T06:55:02-04:00 Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 22 at 2018 11:59 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/mos-t-now-that-drill-sgts-are-back?n=3985235&urlhash=3985235 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Obviously I can’t tell you for all bases and schools, because they’ll be different, but if you’re transferring into 15E, I think you’ll be at huachuca. As a MOS-T you’ll have much more freedom that the people in IET still. None of the TRADOC IET restrictions. This is true of each of the training battalions there. Weekends should pretty much be completely free for you, unless otherwise directed SPC Private RallyPoint Member Sat, 22 Sep 2018 11:59:53 -0400 2018-09-22T11:59:53-04:00 Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 22 at 2018 7:51 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/mos-t-now-that-drill-sgts-are-back?n=3986273&urlhash=3986273 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have been going through AIT here at Fort Sill since May. I graduate in 2 weeks so I have observed the process here. We have been split into seperate platoons fairly randomly by class. There has only been a couple of drill sgts in the entire company and my plt was one that did not have a drill as the plt sgt. With that being said, the transitions (mos-t) students have been on a seperate set of rules than the privates. After class is done, we are free to go and return for pt the next day. The only regs that are the same for us and them is that we cant drink in the barracks but I&#39;m sure that varies by command. We PT together and attend class together but thats it. Back when I reclassed, we had our own squad, went to chow on our own, and was used as class leaders. We did PT and attended 1st and COB formations. They didn’t bother us too much...
