Must someone complete Master Driver Qualification Course at Ft Lee to be a BN Master Driver, and does anyone have reference links?

I am a recent retired SFC and former Master Driver. In order to be a Master Driver at any level, you just need to complete the two week course. Doesn't matter the location of training or who have that training as long as you've completed the standard Army Master Drivers course. I believe this still comes out of AR 600-55 (1 May 2017).

SSG Private RallyPoint Member With the recent switch to GCSS Army, even though an individual may have completed a BN level course on the basics of what a Mast Driver does and the responsibilities that may be involved, they might still need to go through a course on GCSS Army. From what I have heard, that with this switch only Master Drivers with this training have access to licenses unlike the old system where a SAMS clerk could access this information. Do you know anymore on this SFC Michael Sanderson ?

I attended a 2 week "in-house" course to become a Company MD. Never had to do anything beyond that, but that was 10 years ago...so yeah, I have no idea.

The MDT course is geared at people in a brigade level organization that are slotted in that seat. You oversee all the Master Drivers in the brigade. There are a small number of slots available across the AD and NG components, even if you aren't in the slot you may still be eligible to take the course and I highly recommend it. I took it in January and learned quite a bit.

The M9 Course is more for the Bn and Brigade levels

SFC Gould Frank D M day
I took the MD course on line 4 years ago, and received a certificate prior to deploying, the unit had to have a MD, I've been in now 35 years and deployed twice haven't had a problem with GCSS Army not honoring it. Is there something else that needs to happen.
