If you are going to wear it, you may as well wear it correctly. Nameplate and a tie. Since it's going to be at a wedding, you can wear a white shirt with black bow tie.

If your uniform is from the 80s then chances are, you will need to replace some lost parts of the uniform. Start by trying it on and seeing what's missing or needs replacing. You can find everything you need online. Get a copy of 670-1 from 1988. That is an army uniform regulation document. And yes, I would wear a tie and a name plate. You will look sharp. Wear the uniform with pride. You earned it.

I have already replaced everything as it was all too small. I am not sure if I have everything I need. I know now that I need to find a tie yet. But do i need to double up on everything? Do I need to have a name plate on the shirt as well as the jacket? Same with the medals, my Infantry cord, my Infantry blue disks, ect..........

I have been out since 1991, so my memory is a bit foggy.

PV2 Jonathan Phillips, was Reagan - I starting wearing my Class-A uniform again after 25 years, I got out in 92. I had to go out and buy a black tie at Target because I needed one the next day, and it is just like the original tie. But you can also order ribbons, medals, ties, and name plates at marlowwhite.com. You don't need to double up, just wear name plate and medals on the jacket. If you have any old pictures of yourself wearing the Class-A uniform, that helps too, so you can reference how it was setup before.
