My discharge was characterized as Honorable but my RE Code is "N/A." Would somebody give me some advice with re-enlisting?

I am looking reenlist but getting stonewalled hard at MEPS due to a Medical Discharge. I think I may need to file a DD149 to find out what my code is but can I then file a second one to correct the medical diagnosis? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Did you go Active for training only and return to your Reserve unit?
An RE-Code of N/A is typically seen for USAR/ARNG who went on Active duty for deployments, Training etc. Depending on what the medical condition is, a Medical waiver can submitted for consideration. However if the Doc says you are PDQ it is pretty much a done deal.

Would need to see your actual DD-214, but what you describe sounds like the discharge information for someone going through IADT in the Army Reserve or National Guard?

You would have to be cleared of your medical diagnosis and be declared fit for duty. If you received any benefits you would be required to pay them back, especially any separation pay. I'm not sure about disability though.
If you had a normal ETS from active duty then you received a 1 RE code on your 214. You should only have your 214 and your NGB22 if you were national guard.
You didn't really provide a lot of information. If you're going to ask a very technical question like that you should clearly lay out the info or put a pic of your 214 and separation orders up.

RE code stands for "REENTRY ELIGIBILITY " since you were "DISCHARGED" you do not qualify for reentry, hence the "N/A." When I was recruiting, many prior SMs promised to move earth and heaven to get back in, specially those who got out with a medical discharge. First off, you will have to repay all that good severance pay and request a reevaluation of the medical condition that got you discharged. Since you couldn't prove that while in the service, it will be near impossible to accomplish. Good luck! I hope the recruiters are not wasting their time entertaining the idea that you will get back into the service.

Are you trying to get back into the USAR or Regular Army? What is the Separation Code and Narrative Reason on the DD214? Sounds like last period of service was USAR, is that correct? Reserve component SM's do not receive a DD214 upon discharge. A DD214 for Reservists only apply for active duty time, hence the N/A. The Recruiting Battalion Operations will need to run a DMDC REDD report on you to verify your USAR discharge.

I was Discharged back in 2005 for misconduct, a general chapter 11. With a general discharge under Honerable circumstances. I have my dd214 and some other CG form stating it's honorable. Is there a way for me to still go back and change it after all this time? I'd love to get back in the reserves now. I have have a family so that would be great. It'd be even better if I got my VA benefits and MGIB back, that'd be a life changer for me.....

Google DODI 6130.03, Medical Standards for Appointment, Enlistment, or Induction in the Military Services.
Look up your medical conditions and it will indicate whether your condition(s) permits reentry.
