If you're lucky you might be able to get to an Army hospital close to her Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 13 at 2019 2:26 AM 2019-06-13T02:26:45-04:00 2019-06-13T02:26:45-04:00 CSM Darieus ZaGara 4718171

No, not unless some one wakes up feeling extremely generous. Dual military is very challenging, Dual service military is even more so. The two services will not communicate when determining assignments, you and you spouse will have to start early conversations with your respective branches working through available assignments that are close together. There are many factors which go into determining individual assignments, needs of the military is first among those. In any case you and your bride to be will face challenges throughout your respective careers. Thank you for your service. Don't let the military or any of the circumstances surrounding it pressure you into marriage. Your work is important, but temporary. Family is sacred and forever. Committing too soon might jeopardize the foundation of your relationship. Make the decision when you're both ready, despite the difficulties around you.

My wife and I were both active duty Army when we started dating. If I remember right, after the first two weeks, I left for an FTX. Got back for a weekend, then she left for the field. Then she came back and I left for a big culminating FTX. THEN, after a month or so I ETS'd into the reserves and moved off post. A few months later, she left for Disneyland in the desert for nine months. She came back, we had a few glorious months together, and then I left for a couple more months to help family members get back on their feet in Arizona...

We've been happily married for 5 years, 3 kids now, both of us still in. We didn't commit until we were ready. If you love each other and work your ass off, things can work out despite the time apart.

Though, there was that other girl I was gonna marry that left me while I was downrange...
