They're probably trying to figure out how to ask the Chinese hackers to give back the information.

LTC (Join to see) - And if she gets elected ... She's have an instant TS/SCI or whatever is higher than that. Isn't that just f***ing peachy.

Just have the NSA send out a Fax advising all commands that all security classifications will be changing. No more s/ts/conf/eyes only, effective at 0800 hrs tomorrow, there will no longer be any security classifications at all . Let the enemy figure it out.

LTC (Join to see) On a serious note, I just kept bombarding my BDE Security Manager to keep pinging away at them. Them being short staffed was not my problem but my guy's clearance being held up sure as hell was and until I got an acceptable answer, they were going to keep hearing from me. Don't screw with my P rating!

Stephen,
From what I'm hearing on the ground, new clearances are taking between 15-17 months to fully complete. I recommend talking to your SSO, who can call CCF and get an updated status for you. If you're in a position that they NEED you cleared to that level, there are ways your security officers can have your file moved to the "top of the pile". Hopefully you've at least heard from your friends and neighbors listed on your SF86 that they've been spoken to.
Good Luck,
Ken

I have been away from my unit since the fall and then I spoke to my S2 E-7 NCOIC and he explained about the contractor issue. I will have to ping in when I get back to my unit in August. Thanks Ken!

My first TS in 2005 took 3 years, which was fairly normal in a lot a lot of cases at the time. My first periodic reinvestigation in 2010 took about 3 months. I just had a Periodic reinvestigation right before retiring that took just at a year. I've heard they're still catching up, but at the same time I think it's pretty unpredictable in most cases. Seems like they just kinda get done when they get done.
