She wants to enlist in the Navy, and has since been medically cleared. When I was recruiting I could have gotten her a waiver with documentation. The rules change all the time. What waivers, documentations, what RE Codes and Separation Codes are waiverable can change quarterly.<br /><br />Good luck. " That is her separation code. <br />With the AR 600-200 you should get a more clear picture of specifically why she was separated. <br />Documents, not stories. <br />That will determine whether the RE 3 is waiver able or not. Seems to me there is more to the story. Your wife might want to read the family advocate's recommendation and session notes to find out what she's up against. The RE and SEP codes will speak volumes. Timing isn't great given the manning levels are flat/declining. I will advise making decisions that you don't have to play the "what if" game down the road. If she really wants to go for it, great. Either way, she won't have to look back. Of course, BUPERS changes its administrative regs without notice. The navy has not been accepting other service vets for some time now. There are exceptions so give it a try but i wouldn't get your hopes up to high. I took a break in service with an RE3 and later was able to get the waiver I needed, then I served until I retired.
