You can connect with anyone you want, but I don't think that's what you desire.

What specifically are you looking for? Advice from an Army Acquisition officer with a contracting area of concentration(FA51C)? Someone you can discuss the requirements and process of becoming one?

In general, you would have two pathways to becoming an officer in the Army Acquisition Corp (AAC) - transfer at about 6-8 years after you become a commissioned officer or pursue a Direct Commission into the AAC.

In either case, the road will probably be a long one, especially if you don't have a four-year degree already.

If you transfer in, you'll have to be an existing commissioned officer and apply through the Voluntary Transfer Incentive Program (VTIP) or Talent Based Career Alignment (TBCA). That means you'll have to be commissioned first via OCS, ROTC, etc. and apply for a transfer approximately when you're a junior grade Captain.

If you go the direct commision route, you'll must posses a four-year degree as well as a Masters or PhD in a STEM field in order to meet the educational requirements. You'll also have to have 8-10 years of operational experience after you have your four-year degree.COL Randall C.Wed, 25 Dec 2024 06:44:08 -05002024-12-25T06:44:08-05:00Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 25 at 2024 5:27 PM

To maintain the 51C MOS, you must earn a bachelor's degree within 36 months of becoming a 51CMSG Private RallyPoint MemberWed, 25 Dec 2024 17:27:55 -05002024-12-25T17:27:55-05:002024-12-24T22:27:31-05:00
