A huge surprise. I have the White House envelope in a scrapbook somewhere. My friend said that the Reagans would immediately and without questions do the same thing for any person in public service, fire, police, EMT, and the military. President Reagan loved the military seemingly as much as his wife, my friend often told me. This country will not likely ever see the likes of these two people again. Which says a lot about our society now... It was also suggested that while charming etc on the outside behind the scenes she was a pit bull in tossing the weight of her position around and in making her Ronnie look as good as possible. Her staff and people loyal to her have been great so far in not writing any 'tell-all' books or articles.
