Former first lady Nancy Reagan, the former actress who played a pivotal role in the political rise and presidency of husband Ronald Reagan, died Sunday of congestive heart failure at the age of 94, the Reagan library announced.

She will be buried next to her husband, former President Ronald Reagan, at his presidential library in Simi Valley, California.

I remember Nancy Reagan as being a woman of fidelity to her husband through their lives together SCPO Private RallyPoint Member. She has a few quirky characteristics such as her contacts with mediums; but, all in all I think she was classy lady and a great first lady.

Though this is a lousy photo, what with reflections of me in the glass and bad lighting and angle, this is the Wedding Card my wife I and received from President and Mrs. Reagan in 1985, I had, and still have, a very dear friend who was very high up in the US Secret Service, and he asked the two to sign the card and send it to us. A huge surprise. I have the White House envelope in a scrapbook somewhere. My friend said that the Reagans would immediately and without questions do the same thing for any person in public service, fire, police, EMT, and the military. President Reagan loved the military seemingly as much as his wife, my friend often told me. This country will not likely ever see the likes of these two people again. Which says a lot about our society now...

She always seemed a bit to regal for me - cultivating the 'First Lady' brand to a royal level. It was also suggested that while charming etc on the outside behind the scenes she was a pit bull in tossing the weight of her position around and in making her Ronnie look as good as possible. Her staff and people loyal to her have been great so far in not writing any 'tell-all' books or articles.
