Love the pic! Outstanding contrast of the serene mountains in the background with a fully loaded soldier in the foreground. Often the irony of war in Afghanistan. I remember many times out there finding myself looking up at the sky and thinking, "this place is not that bad". Then the rocket alarms go off...

Indeed Sir! I remember them getting better at shooting the 107's at the base. The ridgeline in the middle of the photo is called Razorback Ridge, the primary place where they popped the rockets off at our FOB and COP

Yea, as soon as I saw the local structures near by, I knew there'd be some semi-accurate rocket fire. Best thing about the southern half is that the locals are generally a mile plus away from the fence, so they couldn't hit much with the indirect fire.
