What is your thinking on Nature Vrs Nurture. With odd concepts as GENETIC RESILIENCY, being studied by real lab coats, as an explanation for some Service Members to be able to take all sorts of trauma and come back for more, withstand similar(but never exact circumstances?!?!?!) and have different outcomes bad and good. But what is bad and good?

A lot of questions. No concrete. But I bet if you ask, and took time inch by inch year by year what made them who they are and what made them who they are with the influences around them, any Service Member, who did take a lot of stressors, and mentally came out of it like they had the best sex in their life and wanted more, or maybe they say they were lucky to survive and never wanted to do it again, well I bet that service member would, and could look back on their life and find a mentor, a book, a message, a "saying" in a bible or torah or something religous faith based, that held them mentally up above it all. But what about the kid that who had the same stressors, (but never exact circumstances ?!?!?!) who had bad luck, naive, far to open to bullying, far to open to being dominated and taking abuse from seniors, and every time he turned right or left he was not getting good messages or never could find one, and when he or she thought they found one, good message father mother spiritual leader figure adult friend accomlplice that person would end up hurting them or was really damaged and or would leave and was gone soon after?

Where does this aewsome "out there" in "outerspace" vague" SUPERMAN SUPERWOMAN Gene that only special super humans have, go, and serve, without looking at the details of a humans life, all the influences of other humans and such, from birth. See that would be far to time consuming. And, that would be far to deep. It is such a much easier line or reasoning and thinking to look for the SUPER HUMAN GENETIC RESILEINCY GENE. Like Faith in Religion it is there regardless if all things are fallind apart. It keeps you dreamy and far beyond reality of the real senses of a human. With Super Human Resiency Genetics you are know living in a twilight zone cartoon world that you can make anything happen any time, monsters, gargoyles, spirits, ghosts, demons, bad and good, illusions etc. You can not touch or even see it. And if you believe it or not, the RESILIENCY GENE is always there, soon to be sold to you in a pill, with a big buff steroid freak on the label, as a way to feed your reslient genetic GENE that needs to feed and grow. We don't feel pain. And when we do it is actually fun !!!

I tell you what, put that person, in a cage with a lion. Put that person in a cage with a real MMA fighter. Know they get eaten or their choked out, and when they wake up in a coma, from the MMA attack, and not the lion attack because they are lunch, and they have to live with a disabiling injury cognitive bed ridden for the rest of their lives sadly, and that same person is happy as a duck swimming in the waves of the ocean, then I still say there was something that they read or some person that influenced them. And really this, be the point, that every humans will is to live, and live well, unless depression hits them. Depression is a sickness. Depression is caused by real world consequences. And unfortunatly into todays world and medicince, having enough time, empathy, and really diggin in the transistors of the car, and or machine to find out what those real life stressors are, that are causing the depression illness, is not something that the doctors I have run across will do. It is a quick fix , quick pill, quick diagnosis, quick 30 minute quick 1 hour therapy session, a few quick ideas to make 20 years of homelessness make sense. It is a quick therapy session to say FORGET that you were assaulted in the military by someone you could A. Run away from B. Were in threat of running away from and or defending yourself normally because the UCMJ threat of less then honorable discharge hanged right there to affect the rest of your life if you did not report for duty again. C. Your dad was a missing VIETNAM COMBAT VET, who was untreated with war injuries, and you were really not a normal kid with messed up parents who were just loosers for no reason, but your dad fought for the nation and was drafted, and had you as his golden child, but PTSD and memories and drinking and real PTSD, and spit on and not accepted by society like current Combat Vets, unable to digest and tell his own story or process it wore on him haunted him, and I would be his homeless child dependent with NO VA Suppport starting at 10.

And I ask where is my RESILEINCY GENETIC Superhuman SUPERMAN don't feel a thing bounce back from everything, know what to do in every situation, Genetics that explain away everything. It seems I have it. I surived. But, I am not going to pretend like getting hit by a bus was FUN or GREAT or RESILIENT of ME. Infact the most RESILIENT THING YOU CAN DO is avoid the bus.

I'd venture to say that the "magic" of success is part nature and part nurture. Some folks were taught to be tough and to get things done, in a disciplined manner, from early childhood. And many more (probably) were taught those things, those traits, by the military -- after joining up. In my case, I like to think that both my nature (my upbringing) and my nurture (my military training) have contributed to make me the best person I can be.

I am drawing conclusions that nature is infact something you do not control. You do not control how good or bad looking physically you look to someone else all the time. Maybe things are in the eye of the beholder, how they respond to you, and what they perceive, as their reality, and how they respond to you, which is all based on their experiences Nature Nurture thing.

But basically I think your upbringing is what I would call Nurturing.

We do not control how tall we are or that we breathe or that we have arms and legs etc etc etc etc.

But how we handle things I think is nearly 100 percent experiences, or nurturing.

I am like afraid they, or who ever is studying this concrete idea, that there is a very important Gene that makes you resilient, is so basic, and over simplified.

Basically in my head, it seems the outcome that is desired are humans that can withstand a lot of punishment, extreme conditions, and never complain, even if they are injured. The best response from that person would be that they never complain, or get injured, and they want to do more hazardous things. So then you can send this person to do things, and limit your outlay of what is cost, because their are less injuries, because no one complains, even if they are injured.

And to make up, study, look for, a genetic RESILIENCY GENE, that lets people aspire to believe they have it, and they are RESILIENT, when they do not complain when injured .

And basically we all know that when you are 18 you want to be reslilient. So basically you give this 18 year old an idea, that people with the best genetics do not get injured, and come back for more!
