SSG Dennis Mendoza 7607909

So last year my NCOER wasn't ready till around 93 days after it's thru date I kept asking about it. It finally got done when I asked the BN CSM. So this yeah when my NCOER was written of course the counseling dates for initial and the first later dates are the timeline of me waiting for last year's NCOER to be completed. Will this be an issue with HQDA? How will my late NCOER cause me any problems with HQDA? 2022-04-04T16:00:08-04:00 SSG Dennis Mendoza 7607909

So last year my NCOER wasn't ready till around 93 days after it's thru date I kept asking about it. There's never been any issue. It's by thru date.

When I was in STRATCOM, I think every single one of my NCOERs was late, especially the first one after EES became the thing. That's a joint unit - and my raters (I had like 3 during that time I was there) I had a civilian, an AF LT and a Navy Ensign (who got promoted while I was there).

I think my NCOER 2 years ago was over 90 days late. It didn't mess up anything. It probably just looks bad on the rater/senior rater and unit than anything else. HRC doesn’t come after us, they usually just annoy the CSM of the unit to not let it happen again and tell them they can’t retaliate against anyone in the rating chain because it’s ultimately a failure on the CSM Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 4 at 2022 7:42 PM 2022-04-04T19:42:57-04:00 2022-04-04T19:42:57-04:00 CSM William Everroad 7608991

SSG Dennis Mendoza If your question is will your rating dates change because the last report was late, the answer is no. The answer is also no. Because your rating dates did not change, you were sill due an initial counseling for the new rating period 14 days after the THRU date of the last evaluation. Based on the information you gave, you probably didn't receive the initial or first quarterly, meaning you are behind counselings.

The implication is that your counseling dates are going to be screwed up since you most likely will not have your first counseling until 90 days after the evaluation was submitted. This is wrong as you had an entire quarter without guidance from your rater. The good news is HQDA doesn't really care about when the counselings are completed as long as they fall in the rated period.

You should care. It is your evaluation. Pry that guidance out of your rater. Find out what it takes for them to top block you and earn excellent ratings. Your S1, G1, and chain of command, will get beat up about not meeting time lines. As long as your NCOER is uploaded in time for the next board to view it will not negatively affect you.
