"Nebraska DMV to issue military honor license plates"

OMAHA, Neb. —The Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles will begin issuing military honor license plates to those who have served, or currently serve, on active duty.

Starting Jan. 2, 2016, the plates will be available to those who have served or are serving in the:

U.S Army
Air Force
Coast Guard
Marine Corps
National Guard
or Navy

Six designs will be obtainable, one for each branch listed.

Washington State has similar plates for military folks. Sadly, our Disabled Vet plates are ugly as all getout, and don't have the Handicap Symbol for parking as an option...

Here in AZ, we have Veteran plates. I'd love a branch specific one though.

Attractive design. Hopefully the branch emblem is a separate plate versus a sticker like Oregon uses.

They offer it here in Nevada and they also offer Veteran Driver Licenses as well.

not NJ you have to be a member to DAV which costs over $200, sounds like someone is getting a kick back

NOT NJ, In NJ to get a tag that shows you are a Veteran you have to be a member of the DAV and that costs $200 or more, sounds like someone is getting kick backs in the state of NJ....

Its a way for someone to target me. I will stick with regular non target plates. I do appreciate the effort though to honor veterans.

Surprisingly, Maryland does this also. They even have plates for awards. My plates just say Army veteran, but there were also CMB, Afghan Campaign, NDSM, and various other other "Award" plates to pick from.

I wish Arizona do the same, we only have Veteran, Air Force, Guard, Marine Corps and a few others. We still need one for Army, Navy and Coast Guard...
