I mean seriously new belts?? WHY!? Why do we not go to black belts and back to the color t-shirt from BDUs?

Still curious what Soldiers do during basic now that they are not polishing boots. I know they were at the PX constantly when I was at OBC and even more so when I was at CCC. And at AIT I am sure they are roaming around too......hmmmm bring back ones to polish or let them cut grass with clippers again? Are we getting too soft and worried more about fashion? They can pry my Cav belt buckle off of my cold, dead waist. If we don't thank some of the average and below-average performers for their service and help them into civilian life then all we are going to do is continue on the trend that we have now, where in 10 years that below average NCO is going to be a CSM or the officer a BN Commander.

I know I am not "God's gift to anything" and if told that I was in the bottom half of my year group I would expect to be eliminated. We need to stop being so PC and pandering to everyone and start quantifying performance.

With respect to the uniform, it perturbs me that we have to get all of this new stuff to go with the new uniforms. All of the tan uniform pieces (shirt, belt, boots) would still go with these just fine and we all have tons of it. I swear these uniform change shenanigans is the most asinine steaming pile of hot garbage ever. I've now been in 20 years and have seen 5 different duty uniform changes and 4 PT uniform changes but yet have problems getting common everyday items like copy paper and toner and as of this week, am facing the possibility of having an FTX cancelled due to a lack of funds for guess what...FUEL!!! Sick and tired of the rampant fraud, waste and abuse being ignored in the name of branding and tradition. Why do QTB meetings and the like need to have snacks, drinks and sometimes finger sandwiches? Why must a commander have stupid floor mats, coasters, drinking glasses and banners of all shapes and sizes be contracted to be made? Nice posh, cushy furniture and office chairs in all the offices? Is there something wrong with the old grey steel desks I had when I first came in? WTF?!?
