Not sure if all of you know about this but DOD just issued some very important changes to Tuition Assistance.

I was tracking that this was the way it has always been. You have to maintain a passing grade or you pay it back. As a Squadron Commander, I have had to sign a couple of extensions or requests for appeal to these due to deployments and training. I think people have to get briefed on this when they take tuition assistance as well. It should be on the application and something that you sign, acknowledging that you understand the requirements.

I agree sir, I was under the impression that is was always like this, but apparently I was misinformed. I just thought that this would be the right venue to share this, because apparently not everyone knows or is tracking these changes.

When you're applying for tuition assistance through GoArmyEd you are required to sign a Statement of Understanding regarding all policies, and if you are in the system you are immediately notified of all the changes. The problem is that no one ever reads their emails.

Every time I register for a class I'm notified of the grade I need to maintain, the extra costs I'm responsible for, and the service obligation using TA entails.
